Mr. Robert James Johnson

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ollie Ree Johnson; siblings Jessie Lee Johnson and his wife Betty; Willie Johnson, and his wife Addie, Barbara Johnson-Butler, and her husband Tommie; Cynthia Johnson-Sledge, and her husband Anthony; his son, Duane Johnson; his daughter, Karen Johnson Kidd and her husband Steven; and his grandson, Amaree Johnson.

Robert was a devoted Christian, husband, and father. He had a quiet, sly sense of humor; a talent for art and photography; was a member of his church choir, male chorus, greeter and served as a Shepherd, and loved attending Sunday School; he was an avid traveler having visited every continent on Earth; and a friend and mentor to all who knew him. Robert retired from Kruger Tissue Group, formerly Kimberly-Clark Co. after 43 years of service. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. During his service he was distinguished with multiple medals, some of which includes the National Defense Service Medal, two Bronze Stars, and Marksman and Expert Medals.

A homegoing celebration will be held at New Sardis Baptist Church on September 18, 2022. 2:00 PM visitation with services following at 3:00 PM. Flowers or cards may be sent there. All are welcome to attend.
