I can remember vividly him making us come in off the back porch where me and a couple of my cousins was playing. He had a stern voice and a strong presence. I remember when my cousin Rose and Bobby moved to Memphis. Everybody was so happy for them.He raised strong black men and strong intelligent women..You will definitely be missed cuz , its not going to be the same .R.I.P KING!!

I was Mr. Sumrall's tax preparer and I just heard of his passing today.  Devastated to say the least.  I will always remember my brother as a  man of faith and wisdom.  He was a straight-shooter.  If he thought it, he told me about it - the good, the bad and the ugly.  I am grateful to have had Mr. Sumrall and his lovely wife as clients.  We met a few months ago to finalize his 2020 tax return.  And as usual, we sat and talked about life for over an hour after settling business.  If only I had known this would be the last time I would ever talk to him again, I would have taken the afternoon off to spend more time chatting. Simply put, we do not know the day, nor the hour, our Precious Savior will call us home.  Therefore, we must live life to the hilt, with a purpose and cherish every single moment while we have the chance.  

Goodbye my friend, rest in piece!

My heart is broken to hear of your passing. I remember when you used to sing at the park near us on the Westside of Chicago when I was a little girl. You will truly be missed. To my sweet cuzzin Rose I am sorry I couldn’t attend the service. Just know I love u and my God comfort you. ❤️

 I will always remember him being a man on fire for Christ. I was encouraged each time he testified and song, “Speak to my heart Lord.” I was a college student when I joined ADT and have always enjoyed his spirit. May God be your strength. 

One of my best memories of my uncle Bobby was not to long ago. We was at home in his recording studio. He shared with me some of his new music he was working on.  He was very excited and that incredible smile and laugh he had that lit up a room. The song was title the “The Letters.”  I remember him playing and showing the different parts and how they would be placed. He told me the vision for the video. I closed my eyes and pictured it. It was an incredible song. The one Thing I will never Forget what My uncle told me. Said Jamahl keep inspiring others and doing what you do. I love, man. Let your light shine bright. I told him I would never stop its purpose in my journey on earth. I will miss him dearly. To my TeTe Rose and cousins love you to life. May God keep and hold you all stay strong. I’m here if you all need me

Mr Sumrell and I worked many years together in the Health Dept lab.I respected him as a saintified man and as a laboratorian .I always and will continue to remember him as Mr.Robert

My husband and I send our sincere condolences to  Rose and the family. I met this lovely couple when I worked with them for close to 20 years. During that time we became friends. I have the utmost respect for Robert and Rose. I admired the loyalty and dedication that Robert showed.  He lived a life that displayed kindness and service to his fellow man.  I have no doubt that he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.  I pray that God grants the strength and peace which the family will require.

I Thank The Lord  For Deacon Robert Sumrell. He was an Awesome Saved, Sanctified, Positive Role Model. I used to enjoy him leading Songs When He was In The ADT RAPTURE READY CHOIR. He was a Talented Singer And Song Writer. I Thank The Lord For Having The Privilege to Record a Song With Him made up of a Select Few From Our Church. One Song In Particular That He Wrote That Stood Out To Me Was OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES . I Still Remember That Song. Rest In Jesus Deacon Sumrell. Praying for Missionary Rose Sumrell And  the Entire Sumrell Family.  We Love Y’all From The Holmes Family



The last Tuesday night he was at church,  Deacon Sumrell testified of how GOD had blessed him to study, pray, and seek GOD more, what a blessing, we are continually praying for the family! 

What a dedicated, loving and blessed man I have great fond memories of Bobby —your Dad ..husband to my dear cousin Rose - he will be greatly missed.. my prayers to all of you my dear family.. love hugs and kisses for my Tennessee family and Godly comfort during this painful time —from your Arizona family! ❤️🙏🏾

He was a postive role model and a great leader. I have alot of memories. Bootin me and kirby vacuum out the house. Makin me feel welcome with the nickname family tree. Welcome my family over for holiday make me and them feel like family. Fussin and teachin me and his 2  boys about life.  There a few people i can say is irreplaceable and he for sure one. I will miss you.

Singing with you and listening to your songs, your original music, written and arranged by you is one of my favorite memories of you. Love you always cuz you will be greatly missed.
