

Ronald Wayne Hancock Sr., was born February 14, 1955, to the late Emmett and Aurelia Hancock in Memphis, Tennessee. Ron confessed his faith to Christ at an early age at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He kept his undeniable and unshakable faith throughout his entire life.
Ron graduated from Hamilton High School, Class of 1973. Following high school, he decided to further his education at Texas College, University of Memphis and later received his BS in Physical Education from LeMoyne-Owen College. Ron was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge No. 274.
Ron had several occupations but had a love for teaching and mentoring. He was a substitute teacher for Memphis City Schools. Known affectionately as "Coach" by peers and students, he instilled the importance of education. Ron worked as a forklift operator for various businesses over the years.
He was a loving father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Ron was a skilled athlete in various sports, as well as a gifted coach.
Ron left this world to continue his journey in Heaven on Sunday, July 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Aurelia and Emmett Hancock. Surviving him to cherish a legacy for living are: three devoted children, Ronald Hancock Jr., Gabrielle Hancock and Christina Kirby. He leaves his siblings, Diane Hancock and Danny Hancock (Sharon); a sister-in-law, Hattie Hancock; his favorite uncle, Roosevelt Hancock Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
