Nanny’s soul was a deep as the ocean and it feels she lived many lifetimes. One of my earliest memories was thinking she was so glamorous. She worked at the Holiday Inn & we got to stay in a hotel room! Her make-up was so striking & she was confident. I now know this was after suffering tremendous loss, which only makes it that more impressive. Nanny was a brave woman & held an unbreakable strength. I remember farm life. There was always home cooked food & a deep freezer full of popsicles. When we wanted a salad she took us out into the garden to get fresh lettuce, tomatoes, & cucumbers. She jarred & jammed everything and the strawberry patch, along with the fields of melons, was a dream playground. Another menagerie in my eyes was her sewing room. I cherish so many things she made for us. Quilts, needlepoints, crocheted hats & scarves. She made them up until last Christmas & even made them for those less fortunate. It seemed there wasn’t anything she couldn’t mend. Including a heavy heart. She listened with care, & without judgement. She always offered reasonable balanced wisdom. I cherish those talks. And she was always supportive. In good times & in the most challenging ones. She never gave up on me, or on any of us. She would tell everyone about her big beautiful family, always choosing to see our best. Nanny was intelligent. She was very well-read, always in the middle of a book. She held knowledge about so many interesting things. She was an avid puzzle solver & even as of late would send me completed online jigsaws. She actually enjoyed being on the computer, designing stationary & greeting cards.  My beautiful, smart, talented Nanny. I will miss you. From rubbing my back till I fell asleep as a little girl, to just recently encouraging me to ‘get out’ & chase adventure. You were a constant in my world & in the world of my guys. I hold every shared moment deep within my soul. Thank you Nanny ~ for  the love you always gave to me, to them, and to all of us.  x

Rose was one of my favorite friends. She and I used to listen to country music together.  I loved Rose very much. Please receive our sincerest sympathies.  She had lovely daughters. May she Rest In Peace .
