

Rosemary Ciaramitaro Wainright, 76, of Memphis, passed away on February 8, 2025, after a long illness. Born in Memphis, TN, on December 15, 1948, to Charles and Virginia Palazola Ciaramitaro, Rosemary was a cherished member of the community. She was married to George John Wainright for over 54 years, with whom she shared two daughters, Andrea Wainright Solomon of Memphis, and Amy Elizabeth Wainright of Chicago, as well as a grandson, Zachary Edward Solomon of Memphis. Rosemary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is also survived by her brother, Vincent (Ann) Ciaramitaro of Germantown; two nephews, Charles (Courtney) Ciaramitaro and Michael (Nettie) Ciaramitaro, both of Memphis; grandnieces Caroline Ciaramitaro of San Francisco, Grace and Cate Ciaramitaro of Memphis; and many cousins. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virginia Ciaramitaro. She leaves behind many long-time friends who will miss her dearly.
Rosemary graduated from St. Anne Catholic Grade School, Sacred Heart High School, and the University of Memphis. She dedicated many years to her community, working as a bookkeeper at Holy Rosary School and the Church of the Holy Spirit for 14 years each. Additionally, she served as a substitute teacher at Holy Rosary School while her daughters were students there.
Her family was a founding member of the Catholic Church of the Resurrection, and she was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Rosemary was also an active member of the Madonna Circle and Circle Arts, where she forged lasting friendships.
Services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 12 pm at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest Dr., Memphis, TN 38119. Visitation will begin at 11 am, followed by a rosary and Mass at 12 pm. There will be a short graveside service at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar will be in charge of arrangements.
