Ruby Lee Teague Rainey

Ruby Lee Teague Rainey, 86, of Southaven, Mississippi died November 21, 2012. Born April 14th, 1926, she was the eldest child of Clifford Franklin & Lela Altie Rosson Teague. She married the Reverend Jessie A.L. “Arthur Logan” Rainey on September 22, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 28th 1997 after 57 years of an awesome marriage. The family will receive guests on Monday, November 26 from 9AM – 11AM with funeral services beginning at 11AM all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mt. Gilead Community beginning around 2:30PM. Beside her husband, Mrs. Rainey was preceded in death by her 3 sons, William Franklin, W.L. & Jimmy Eudine Rainey; several siblings that died at birth; sister Ruth Altie Teague Hill; grandson Steven Lewis Rainey and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by two sons Jessie Lewis Rainey (Elizabeth) of Southaven, MS, Ronald Gene Rainey (Rose Marie) of Whiteville, TN; two daughters Wanda Lee Rainey Payne (David) of Horn Lake, MS, Altia Georgia Rainey Pickering (Mike) of Union City, TN; four brothers J.C., James, Kenneth and Billy Joe Teague; two sisters Edith & Zula-Mae “Boots”; many grandchildren, great & great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family. Mrs. Rainey was a member of Clearview Baptist Church in Southaven and would like any memorials in her memory sent there to the building fund.
