Carol was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend who treasured her family above all else. She found joy in the simple things that made life special—spending time with the people she loved, enjoying game nights, and following the Olympics. She was also a devoted Clay Aiken fan and never missed an opportunity to share her enthusiasm.
Carol had a special love for her cats, who were an important part of her life. Her family knew just how much her children and grandchildren meant to her. Her love for her family was evident in so many of the little things she did and in the memories she created with them.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, Aubrey Powers, Jr, James “Jimmy” Powers, and Hazel Hudson.
She leaves behind her children, Bryan Wright (Kathie) and Kendra Jones (James Crockett); and her grandchildren, Emma Jones, Dale Gouge, Reagan Crockett, and Josh Crockett.
Carol will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her laughter, her interests, her love of animals, and, most of all, her love for her family will remain a cherished part of their memories.
Memorials may be made to West Cancer Center or to the Memphis Humane Society.
Family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, September 26 at Family Funeral Care 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm.
