Sam J. Bomarito, 89, lifelong Memphian and owner of Pete & Sam’s Restaurant, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. He attended Catholic High and was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20 from 4PM – 8PM and funeral mass will be on Wednesday, March 21 beginning at 2PM all at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 1695 Central Avenue with Rev. Jim Martel officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Sam was preceded in death by his parents Dominick & Rose Gattuso Bomarito and his brother Paul Bomarito. He is survived by his sons Sammy (Beth) & Michael (Erika) Bomarito all of Memphis; sister Vita Gattuso; and two granddaughters Ava & Mia Bomarito.
