Selina Chan Smith, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2017, after a long battle to cancer. Selina was born in Hong Kong in 1956. She was a graduate of Central High School here in Memphis. She was a realtor with Crye-Leike from 1992 through 2017 and a restaurant owner from 1987 to 1992. Selina was a member of the member of the Board of Realtors and was in the Multi-million Dollar Club and was active for the past several years in The Grand Krewe of Ptah. She was a member of the Greater Memphis United Chinese Association. Selina was known by all who knew her for her culinary and entertaining skills.
Selina was preceded in death by her parents, Shu Hung Chan and Mary Chung Chan, and her brother Steven Chan. Selina is survived by her daughter, Angela Smith of Memphis; her brother Allen Chan and his wife Scarlett of Collierville; sister Sue Kowalske and her husband Darren of California; sister Carol Fong and her husband Nick of Germantown; her stepmother, Annie Chan; and Selina's niece Kylie and her two nephews Tyler and Ryan.
Services are held at Memphis Funeral Home on Monday June 19 with Visitation at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm. Burial service at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Cancer Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
