Stanley L. Merryman was born on November 8, 1940 in Memphis to Gene and Mary Louis Merryman. He attended South Side High School and was an outstanding athlete in multiple sports. Also during high school, he was a leader for Young Life ministries. Stanley then earned his Chemistry degree from the University of Memphis. On September 2, 1960, he married Rozellind Welting Merryman. They raised four children, Stanley Jr., William Kyle, Thomas Chad, and Dorothy Whendy Merryman. Stan had five grandchildren. He owned and operated his own HVAC business for forty years. He and his wife have been members at First Evangelical Church for forty four years.
Stanley was preceded by his parents, and brother Earl Merryman.
He is survived by his wife Rozellind, his four children, Stan Jr., Whendy, Kyle and Chad, his brothers Murray and Norman, sister Nancy Guy, and four grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 15 at the Chapel in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
