STEPHEN RAY HARRIS, 79, passed away at home Thursday, May 1, 2014. Mr. Harris grew up in Memphis and was a graduate of Memphis State University with a Masters in Math and Chemistry. He retired from Humko as a chemist and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His free time was spent reading the bible and retreating to the mountains where he could sit among the trees and feel closer to God. Mr. Harris is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Alice Harris; one son, Leland Ray Harris; one daughter, Linda Lea Owen; 3 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one niece, Lou Ann Kummerer. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 6 at Memorial Park Cemetery on Poplar. Family Funeral Care is in charge of all arrangements.
