Terry was born on January 19, 1954, in Batesville, Arkansas, to the late Vaughn and Dean Roach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Norma Sue Roach; father-in-law, Chuck Kolesar; and his best friend, Stoney Wisley.
Terry was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family deeply and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. He especially enjoyed watching football with his family, attending his children’s events, and simply being together. His family was at the heart of his life, and the memories they shared will be cherished forever.
An active and athletic man, Terry had a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors and staying active. He was a state champion in discus during his athletic years and later enjoyed playing golf, going for walks, and spending time outside. He also had a passion for flying airplanes, an interest that brought him great joy and a sense of freedom.
Terry was a thoughtful and curious person who loved reading and writing. He enjoyed learning, reflecting, and putting his thoughts into words. His faith was also an important part of his life, and he cherished his time at church and the fellowship he found there.
Terry is survived by his children, Cameron Roach (Kaylen), Clayton Roach, and Emma Claire Roach; his granddaughter, Hartford Roach; and his brother, Ronald Roach.
Terry will be remembered for his love of family, his athletic spirit, his adventurous nature, his faith, and his ability to find joy in the simple moments of life. Above all, he will be deeply missed by those who loved him and were fortunate enough to share life with him.
Family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, September 12 at Family Funeral Care 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Memorial Park Southwoods 5485 Hacks Cross Rd, Memphis, TN.
