Timothy William Schoonover, age 72, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Timothy was born on April 12, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa, to William H. and Arlene C. (Palmer) Schoonover.
A loyal son, brother, uncle, father, and grandfather raised in the small town of Dysart, Iowa. Upon graduation from Dysart High School in 1966, he enlisted in the United State Marine Corps. He proudly served his country in Vietnam as part of the revered Marine Wing Support Group 17 (MWSG-17). He loved reading, playing golf, and watching his Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. His greatest joy was spending time with his three sons. From playing sports trivia on long road trips to hitting golf balls at the local park, you would never see him happier than when he was with “his 3 boys”.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Arlene Schoonover; brothers, Scott and Shawn Schoonover and an infant sister. He is survived by his treasured sons, Ryan (Mary) Schoonover, Michael (Emily) Schoonover and Kyle (Breanna) Schoonover, grandson, Jayden Moorman, brother, Bart (companion Penny Wirth) Schoonover; sisters, Kay (Duane) Schumacher and Lisa (Rod) Pritchard. In addition, he is survived by four nephews.
Although he has left this world, his impact will live on forever in the hearts of those he touched.
A visitation for Timothy will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm with services beginning at 2:00pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122..
