Tommie Elizabeth Melton Grant, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by love, into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ May 29, 2018. She joined her husband, Earshel Grant who preceded her in death in 2014. Mrs. Grant was retired from Sears Crosstown and was a life-long Baptist.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Melton.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Grant; brother, William K. Melton and 4 nephews and their families.
The family will receive friends on Monday June 4, 2018 from 5-7 P.M with funeral services held on Tuesday June 5 at 12 noon; all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Interment will follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Gordon Kraus and his staff for their excellent care, also to the family friends that have offered their support and to Mrs. Grant’s devoted caregiver, Hazel Houston. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mrs. Grant may be offered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Calvary Rescue Mission.
