Johnnie, Your sister was a beautiful person. Time will help you to heal.
As you know, We had a long and beautiful friendship, My life has been enriched by her. Vashti knew a lot about most things and shared her knowledge. She was a very good leader. We were both Memphis City Schools librarians and she had excellent ideas that she shared with the rest of us. Vashti has been a superb leader at Parkway Gardens Church. Some of us are feeling lost and wondering how we are going to make it without her.

I will dearly miss the smile and warmth of Vashti. She was a very hard worker and contributed so much to our church family. I thank God for the gift of her life, and her willingness to give of herself to and for others. Rest in peace, Vashti.

Like Vashti in the Bible, Vashti Crowder,
was a person always looking out for the needs of others. She spoke up for those who she felt were being wronged . She will be missed by me and others at Parkway Gardens United Presbyterian Church.
