Vernon Ball Lewis

Knoxville - MRS. VERNON BALL LEWIS, passed away June 8, 2014. She was born in 1922 on February 19th in Soddy Daisy TN and spent most of her adult life in Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar L. Lewis and siblings Clyde, Mildred, Charlotte and Carl. She is survived by her only child, Edgar L. Lewis Jr., who was the light of her life; siblings Paul Ball and Ray Ball; cherished nieces and nephews, Cherry Rankin, John Hargis and Eugene Ball; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hitt and Jamie Sudbury, and two great-grandchildren, Jagger and Beckett Sudbury. She worked at the International Harvester Memphis Plant for 25 years and bowled for the Plant bowling league. She always worked to keep a beautiful garden, but more than anything she loved attending the Moose Lodge dances and her trips to the casinos. The family will receive friends and relatives 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, June 11 with the Funeral Service following at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue.
