Virginia Allen

Kay Allen passed away on November 19th at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jack Allen and is survived by her three children, Don Allen (Jane), Peggy Allen, and Patricia Allen Carter (Randy) . The pride and joy of her life were her grandchildren, Sarah Lawrence Allen, Katherine Wright Allen, Wesley Allen Carter (Kenslea) and Emily Carter Grant (Jacob). Kay was a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church after spending many years at Union Avenue Baptist and Eudora Baptist Church where she served as the church librarian and as a Sunday school teacher, investing in the lives of many women throughout her entire life. She loved to cook, play bridge, cheer on the Braves and she was always available for a game of rummy tile with her neighbors. The family will receive friends at Memphis Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 21st. A private graveside service will be held afterwards.
