Walter Johnson Hooker, Jr, 64 of Germantown, TN passed away on April 20, 2021. He was born in Memphis, TN on June 20, 1956 to Walter Johnson, Sr. and Ruth Flynn Hooker. Devoted husband of 40 years, loving father of two sons, and the best Poppy to 3 grandkids.
Walter worked at FedEx for over 40 years, serving in various capacities throughout his career. He had a passion for fishing and sports, cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide football team every Saturday in the Fall. Most importantly, Walter had a passion for telling people about his love for Jesus, the Lord and Savior he served for over 45 years.
Walter was preceded in death by his father, Walter and his mother, Ruth. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; sons, Joseph and Jordan (daughter-in-law, Danielle); grandchildren, Aiden, Aaron, and Lydia; sister, Anne Burton; uncle, Raymond Abernathy; sister-and-brother-in-law, Ramona & Michael Fredman; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will he held on Saturday, April 24 at Harvest Church Memphis (3645 Forest Hill Irene Road, Germantown, TN 38138), with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM and the memorial service beginning at 2:30 PM.
