

Willagene Green “Jean” Bradford, devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother died July 28 at Kirby Pines. Jean was a member of Germantown Presbyterian Church. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, David H. Bradford, Jr. Jean was born in 1919 in Desoto County. She graduated from Horn Lake High School where she played running center, 3rd division basketball in 1936. Jean completed a degree in Home Economics from Mississippi State College for Women (now MUW). She was a former member of PEO, the Kennedy Book Club and Kirby Pines Kiwanis Club. While she taught for a few years in Mississippi and the Whitehaven, TN area, her main love was her family. She and David lived in Whitehaven for many years then moved to Summit, NJ before returning to Memphis in 1990. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Wright (Donn) of Atlanta, GA; her son, David C. Bradford, Sr. (Patti) of Memphis; grandson David C. Bradford, Jr. (Ashley) of Memphis; grandson Jason Bradford (Diana) of Beaver Creek, OH and 1 great-grandson, Aidan Holland Bradford. Graveside services for family and close friends will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, at New Bethlehem Cemetery, Horn Lake, MS, at Church Rd. and Horn Lake Rd. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Kirby Pines. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Ballet Memphis, 7950 Trinity Rd., Memphis, TN 38018.
