William “Steve” Herring, 85, of Memphis, TN passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Herring, two daughters, Stephanie Herring and Joan Coffey and a grandson, James Stephen Sims. Mr. Herring is survived by his daughter, Tish Sims (Jeff), and five grandchildren, Kara Filer, Duncan Filer, Brandon Coffey, Lannon Coffey and Jeffrey Sims, Jr. Mr. Herring was a member and deacon at Ridgeway Baptist Church for many years. He loved the Lord and depended on Him for strength and comfort. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, April Thirtieth from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until the time of service at two o’clock in the afternoon at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. There will be a private interment service following the funeral. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
