

William “Bill” Howell was born in Hernando, MS on February 20, 1956 to Tony James and Minnie Joe Howell. He was the eleventh of thirteen children born to this union. He was proceeded in death by four brothers, one foster brother, and one sister: James Edward, James Herman (Shirley), Sie, Charlie, William Henry, and Roberta (Andrew) Lauderdale. He accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Hill MB Church in Hernando, Mississippi. He served as an Usher and remained faithful until God called him home. Bill departed this life July 29, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Hernando High School in 1975 and began working at Pro-Serve Inc. in Memphis, TN. His work ethic allowed him to become a Supervisor and he did his job diligently for 29 years until his health failed. He was best known for his willingness to help others as well as keeping the family tradition of painting and instilling it in younger Howell generations. Bill was united in holy matrimony to Maxine Applewhite on August 20, 1977; to this union , two children were born. He leaves to cherish his memories; a devoted wife Maxine Howell, two loving daughters Pamela (Courtney) Adams and Demesha Howell; three beautiful granddaughters Kortne “Bri”, Kailsey, Kameron; one special grandson Demetri; and one precious great-grandson Kaelan; four brothers Tony (Edna) Howell, W.E. Howell, Joe Lee (Queenie) Howell, Charles (Lizzie) Howell; four sisters Willie Ann Dudley, Bessie (Earl) Simmons, Minnie Joe Jackson, Mary Ann (John) Moore; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
