

William "Andy" Newton, age 67 of Southaven, Mississippi passed away on January 16, 2026. Andy was born on August 19, 1958, in Memphis, Tennessee to Anita (Alfonso) Newton and Curtis (Buddy) Newton. He grew up in Whitehaven and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1976.
What Andy thanked God for the most was the love He gave him for animals. He was an avid supporter of Best Friends Animal Society and ironwood Pigs Sanctuary and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). While growing up he was a very successful Magician. He was one of the top magicians in the Memphis area by the age of 12. At the time he was the youngest magicians to be inducted into the Memphis magician's union. He was also an accomplished gymnast. He competed from age 10-13 winning many medals, ribbons, and championships through programs at the YMCA. He also spent 30 years of his life dedicated to his lawn care business. He took great pride in making sure each yard was "perfect." He was very meticulous about his work!
Andy was preceded in death by his father, Curtis "Buddy" Newton.
He is survived by his mother, Anita Newton, his sister, Darlene Cunningham and his brothers, Michael Newton and Jeff Newton.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm in the South Hall of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery,1663 Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis, Tennessee 38106.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Ironwoodpigs.org, BestFriends.org (Animal Society) or St. Paul Catholic Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
