Yvonne L. Owens

Yvonne L. Owens, born May 23, 1930, was preceded in death by her husband Bobby L Owens, her Mother, Ruth V. Youngman, and brother, Robert E Lape. She leaves four brothers, Joe Lape (Jackie) Omaha,NE, Paul Lape (Linda) Hoover, AL, David Lape (Barbara) Memphis, TN, Jim Rose Columbus, OH, and one sister, Ruth Thompson, Memphis,TN. She is also survived by three sons, Thomas C Owens, (Angele), Memphis TN, James W. Owens, Coldwater MS, Andy Owens (Annette), Collierville TN, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She moved from Columbus, OH to Memphis in 1946 and graduated from Tech High School in 1948. She was a long standing member of The Church of The Full Gospel Foundation (where she met her husband Bobby Owens). She worked at the Prudential Insurance Company shortly after high school before marrying in 1954. She was a devoted housewife and Mother enjoying her family. Most of all, she was a woman of great faith in God, and lived her life for the Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, August 28, 5-8pm at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. Graveside service at 1pm, at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Baptist Trinity Hospice House.
