

David A. Lee, age 69, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at his residence with his wife at his side following a courageous battle with lung cancer. On July 25, 1942, Dave was born in Neenah, son of the late Leonard and Anna (Mika) Lee. He went to grade school at St. John’s and was a 1960 graduate of St. Mary High School. Dave served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. On April 18, 1970, Dave was united in marriage to Karen Weber at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. He was employed at Neenah Paper, Badger Northland, and retired after 21 years from IPG/Intertape Polymer Group (Central Products) in 2008.
Dave loved to go to the various Wisconsin casinos to play slots and Keno. He liked playing the lottery, and Scrabble and Marble Solitaire were two other favorite games. He enjoyed singing Karaoke, especially Frank Sinatra. Dave and Karen loved traveling and he was very excited to see the Alamo, since John Wayne was his favorite actor. Most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughter, Meghan, and the rest of his family.
Dave will be missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Karen; their children: Christopher (Carey) Lee, and their daughter, Meghan; and Jennifer Lee; his brothers: Leonard (Dorie) Lee Jr., Don (Joyce) Lee, Lyle Lee; a sister, Sr. Leann Lee; brothers-in-law: Alfred “Sonny” Weber, Gary (Diane) Weber; sisters-in-law: Marlene (Ralph) Aschenbrenner, Betty Ann (Bill) Cobb; Karen’s other “brothers”: Mike (Jo) Kaminski and Rick Kaminski; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dave was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Judy Lee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 De Pere Street, Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, August 25, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Visitation will be held again on Friday morning, from 10:00 am until the hour of the Mass at the church. Military Rites will be performed on Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm at St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
