Elvira Mae Robbins

Elvira M. “Nettie” (Tiedje) Robbins, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Manor Care in Appleton. On January 27, 1936, Elvira Mae was born to the late August and Edna (Messerschmidt) Tiedje in Oshkosh. Nettie was united in marriage to Robert Robbins on September 25, 1954. Nettie enjoyed spending time at the Menasha Senior Center. She also liked playing cards, Bingo, and crafting. Nettie was a very loving, giving wife and mother and always put others first before her.

Nettie will be missed by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert “Bob”; their children: Debra VanHandel, Linda (Marvin) Gosz, Gary (Nancy) Robbins, Sandra (Jeff) Bork, Tina (Rod) Wheeler, David (Cathy) Robbins; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way; sisters: Roxann (Ronald) Braasch and Diana Farry; brothers-in-law: Dick and Jim Robbins; other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, August; a sister, Betty; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Orville and Anita; and sisters-in-law: Bernie and Lana.

A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha, with Rev. Kurt Kovanen from the GTZ Lutheran Parishes officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Resthaven Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
