Julane Ann Zielinski, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 9, 1931 in Rosholt, WI, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Kruzicki) Wanserski. Julane graduated from Rosholt High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Raymond Zielinski on May 9, 1953 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Menasha. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Julane and Ray owned and operated Ray’s Beer and Liquor from 1977 to 1982. Julane was a life-long member at St. John’s, and was part of the Rosary Society. She and Ray helped cleaned the church as well. Julane loved bird watching, playing cards especially cribbage, baking and cooking well known for her homemade chicken soup and Ho-Ho cake. She always enjoyed going up north to family cottages. She loved spending time with her family and always attended every child and grandchild’s events. One of her greatest joys was being a crossing guard for 19 years, mostly at 6th and Racine Street.
Julane is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Raymond, five children: Susan (Al) Talarczyk of Madison, Gregory “Hondo” (Georgian) Zielinski of Menasha, Dan (special friend Brenda Walton) Zielinski of Menasha, Sally (Tyron) Thompson of Menasha, Scott “Ziggy” Zielinski of Neenah;15 grandchildren: Jillian Talarczyk, Dr. Kate (Chris) Statz, Sam Talarczyk, Rebecca, Lucas, Jonathan and JJ Zielinski, Jenny (Doug) Marsch, Chris and Holly Hartung, Eric (fiancée Kimberly Krueger) Zielinski, Tony (Kayla) Zielinski, Rachel (Mike) Jilek, Tara and Troy Thompson; three great-granchildren: Sophia, Miles and Marcela and one on the way; one sister, Dorothy Pozolinski, one brother, Richard “Butch” Wanserski, and four sisters-in-law, Mary Wanserski, Elsie Wagner, Marge Block, Leone Zingler. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Julane was preceded in death by one grandson, Dustin Zielinski, two sisters, four brothers, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. John the Baptist, 516 DePere Street, Menasha, with Father Paul Paider officiating. Friends and family may visit at the CHURCH from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Inurnment will take place at St. John Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established with donations directed towards Affinity Hospice.
The family wishes to thank Melenda Smith, Jerry Wiesgerber and all of Ray’s sisters for all of the favors over the years; also the St. Elizabeth Oncology department and Affinity Hospice staffs for all their kindness, care and support.
Oh honestly, her laughter will live on.
