

Lloyd A. Peterson, age 84, of Menasha, passed away at Cherry Meadows on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Lloyd was born in Schofield on July 8, 1928, the son of the late Roy A. and Anita (Timler) Peterson. Lloyd graduated from UW-Stevens Point, then joined the Army. He served during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge from service, Lloyd married his loving wife, Marcella Muehlenbein on May 18, 1957. He worked at Marathon and later Appleton Papers. Lloyd was a member of St. Mary Parish in Menasha, where he was an usher for many years. He was a committee man with Boy Scout, Troup 50, and was district chairman of advancement, assisting and testing boys applying for their Eagle Scout award. Lloyd was very involved in his children’s activities, volunteering as a coach and umpire at baseball and softball games. Lloyd was especially proud of becoming a sixth degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do which he loved to teach. Lloyd is lovingly survived by his wife of 55 years, Marcella Peterson of Menasha; four children and ten grandchildren: Dave (Patti) Peterson and their children: Brian, Steve and Greg of Westmont, IL; Dan (Lisa) Peterson and their children: Nicole and Grace of Hortonville; Roxy (Kevin) Lassig and their children: Michelle, Trevor and Ben of La Crescent, MN; Kevin (Ellen) Peterson and their children: Keira and Zach of Sherwood; two brothers: Roy E. Peterson of Schofield and Glenn (Sandy) Peterson of Carlsbad, CA; sister, Lois (Bill) Siegfried of Costa Mesa, CA; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Peterson of Rothschild. Lloyd is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Peterson, sister, Mona (Mick) Lane and sister-in-law, Joan Peterson.
