Born on October 13, 1958 in Pampanga, Philippines to Salvador and Petronila Mutuc, Alfonso was the fourth eldest of twelve siblings. After graduating from Holy Angels College, he began a 24-year career in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in Northern California and Japan before retiring in Southern California.
Alfonso was a devoted husband to his wife, Evelyn, loving father to three children (Analyn, Aldrich and Elaine Joy) and doting grandfather to six grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling with Evelyn, often sailing on cruises throughout the world or exploring the U.S. National Parks. Affectionately known as “Granddad” to his grandkids, he loved taking them to Disneyland and baking their favorite treats.
Besides family, Alfonso also greatly valued his faith. A devout Catholic, he never failed to take care of all those around him. It is through his example that Alfonso passed on his faith to others, including his children and grandchildren; he truly lived his life as a light for Christ.
May the Lord grant Alfonso Mutuc eternal peace in Heaven.
“I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
