

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carlene Foland, beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of the Canyon Lake community. Carlene passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, after bravely battling ALS for over a year.
Born on October 9, 1945, to Robert and Elaine Schoenick, Carlene graced the world with her presence and touched countless lives with her kindness and beauty. In her youth, she achieved remarkable milestones, crowned as Miss Glendora and later, Miss Los Angeles County. These accolades were a testament to her elegance, poise, and inner strength, which defined her throughout her life.
Carlene dedicated her life to her family, friends, and her community. She married her loving husband, Thomas Foland on February 26, 1967, and together they shared forty-three years of unwavering love and commitment until Tom passed away in 2010. They built a beautiful family and created countless memories together throughout their journey.
Carlene poured her heart and soul into raising her three sons. She was a pillar of strength and a source of unconditional love for her family, always putting their needs above her own. Those who knew her will remember her nurturing spirit and selfless devotion.
Canyon Lake has been home to the Foland Family since 1988 where Carelene worked to get her Real Estate License. She helped many families purchase homes in the lake and surrounding areas. She loved raising her family in this little bit of paradise.
Despite her diagnosis of ALS in December of 2022, Carlene faced her illness with remarkable courage and poise. She approached each day with determination and resilience, inspiring all who witnessed her unwavering spirit. Her bravery in the face of adversity serves as a testament to her remarkable character and indomitable will. Even in the face of adversity, she remained steadfast in her faith in Jesus Christ and her resolute devotion to God.
Carlene is survived by her three devoted sons, Jay, Mark, and Brad, and stepchildren Kerry Adkins, and Sheri White. Carlene is devoted Nana to her 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Carlene will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, her memory forever cherished in our hearts.
