Carol Mae (Messerschmidt) Poppoff

Carol Mae (Messerschmidt) Poppoff, age 78, of Menifee, California passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 after a long hard battle with cancer. Carol was born in Fort Riley , Kansas May 11, 1945 to Roy & Roberta Messerschmidt. Carol graduated from Nazareth High School in 1962 and then attended nursing school. From nursing school it was off to the U.S. Navy for corpsman training. Carol met her future husband Richard prior to graduation and they were soon married.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta of Menifee, CA; her father Roy of Poway, CA.; her brother, Alan of Pen Argyle, PA; and grand daughter, Faith Poppoff of Escondido, CA.

Carol was an active member of her community and frequently volunteered at Canyon Lake Community Church (CLCC). Carol was actively involved with children's ministries including being an AWANA leader. Carol placed her faith, family and friends at the forefront of her activities. Her strength was legendary and admired by her circle of friends.

Carol is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Richard Poppoff Sr.; her two sons Richard Poppoff,Jr., Sean Poppoff; her daughter Shannon, her granddaughters Jordan Kaufmann, Alexis Mantor, Taylor Poppoff, Kameryn Poppoff, Ryleigh Vaughan, Emmaline Poppoff; her grandsons Evan Vaughan and Gabriel Poppoff, great grandchildren Andrew & Karlie Kaufmann, Amirah Poppoff and Bradley Mantor. Carol passed just before her newest great grandchild, Luke, was born.
