Carole Leone Butler, 91, went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2026. Born Carole Stocker on January 14, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio, she shared 61 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Pastor Ronald Butler. Together, they built a life firmly rooted in Christian faith and devotion to each other while serving others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, and her parents, Leone (Tullis) Nally and Harold Stocker.
Carole is survived by her seven children: Cathy Butler of Canyon Lake, CA; Ron Butler (Tess Blethyn) of Roanoke, VA; Paul Butler (Arlene) of Bakersfield, CA; Richard Butler of Las Vegas, NV; Debbie Carden (Joel) of Temecula, CA Bruce Butler (Janet) of Lonetree, CO; and Lauri Posey (Russ) of Loveland, CO. She also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her much joy and whom she loved dearly.
Carole faithfully served for many years as an administrative assistant at Biola University, Sequoia Junior High and Pasadena City College. She was deeply involved in women’s ministries, discipling women, and serving with Rover’s Senior RV group. She gave tirelessly to her family and church family, always with humility and grace.
Her life reflected her faith—kindness, gentleness, perseverance, and unwavering trust in God’s promises. A devoted wife, loving mother, and prayerful grandmother, she welcomed all into her home with warmth and hospitality.
Carole and Ron began their journey in creating the family they believed “God wanted them to have” in 1960 by adopting and inviting multiple family members into their home over a 20 year period. Though her family grieves, they are comforted by the assurance of her steadfast Christian faith and the peace she now knows in the presence of her savior Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held on March 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Canyon Lake Community Church located at 30515 Railroad Canyon Rd, Canyon Lake, CA 92587 with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canyon Lake Community Church or a missions ministry of your choice.
