To my extraordinary dad,
Thank you Dad for all your love you gave me.  You were always there for me.  You always gave me good advice when I needed it.  You knew so much about life and you lived a wonderful life. You were such an amazing dad who cared for us and made sure we were happy and safe.  Family was so important to you.  You would always be happy  when getting together with the family.  All your grandchildren loved you so much! We now have beautiful memories that will always be with me.  Your legacy will live on forever.  I miss you so much. You will always be in my heart.

You said a few times that you didn’t want to go yet, that you wanted a few more years with us. Even though I wish we had a few more years together, I have faith in God and the Virgin Mary that you were needed in heaven for something very important and special. God tested you this last year and you never let Him, us or yourself down. Your stubbornness worked to your advantage and you fought every challenge that you encountered and you ended up earning the name “Iron Man.”  But alas, God said it was time to come to his home to join him and to begin the wonderful things he has planned for you to do.
I love you dad and I am going to miss you every single day. You were a great dad.

Hi dad,

Its’ been about three weeks since we’ve spoken on the phone. I think this is the longest we’ve ever gone without hearing each other’s voices.

You’d call me at least every other day or so. If you couldn’t reach me, you’d call Jason- If you couldn’t reach Jason, you’d call Tyler- If you couldn’t reach Tyler, you’d call Jacob. I’m really missing your calls and hearing your voice. I’d say “Hi dad, que estas haciendo?” you’d say “ Que estas haciendo lobito?”

I’ve really gotten to know you better these last 12 months. We spent a lot more time together, good times and not so good times.  But I am thankful for the time that we did have and it was honor and pleasure being by your side.

Please don’t worry about mom. You asked each of us to take good care of mom and that’s exactly what we will do. She’ll be well taken care of just like you were.

I’ll check that your beautiful backyard stays beautiful. - And no, we aren’t getting a new gardener 😊

I can say your car needs some cleaning. You kept your car spik & span! I’ll do my best to keep it to your standards-But I won’t promise that I’ll wax it.
I know you must be having a wonderful time right now visiting with family- Tia Conchita, Papito Humberto, Tia Ceci and especially Mama Chaviquita. Lately, you have been telling us that you have been thinking about her a lot. I hope you’ve had a chance to give her a big hug and kiss. Please give her a “rompe huesos” from all of us.
And by the way,  I’m wearing Mama Chaviquita’s earings today. Thank you for passing them along to me. I really like them a lot.
Oh, The boys look so handsome today! They are wearing suits! You’d be so proud to see them today, even though the pride you had for them was so obvious, and just so you know… they are each wearing one of your ties in your honor. Needless to say, Marina, your #1, looks very pretty. 
I feel very confident that today will be everything you wanted it to be; for family to be together, celebrating your wonderful long life

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the influence you’ve had on my life and how grateful I am for everything you’ve done for me. You weren’t just a father; you were a teacher, a mentor, and a source of love and encouragement that shaped who I am today.

One of the memories that stands out most is when you taught me how to fix cars. It wasn’t just about turning wrenches or learning what tools to use—although you made sure I knew the difference between a socket wrench and a ratchet! It was about the patience you showed as I learned, the confidence you gave me when I struggled, and the life lessons you shared during those long hours in the garage. You never made me feel like I couldn’t do something. Instead, you encouraged me to try, make mistakes, and figure things out.

Every time we worked on a car together, it felt like more than just a mechanical task. It was time spent together, bonding over something that was important to both of us. You taught me that hard work and focus can solve problems, and you made sure I understood that no challenge was too big if I just kept at it. 

But more than the technical skills, you taught me how to approach life—with perseverance, patience, and belief in myself. You gave me the tools not only for fixing cars but for navigating life’s obstacles. Your love and encouragement made all the difference, and I’ll always carry those lessons with me.

Thank you for being such a great dad and for always being there for me—You’ve made me who I am, and I’m proud to have learned from the best.

Dear Susana, Frances, Ivan, Marcelo, and Susie,

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Uncle Gerardo. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Uncle Gerardo was a wonderful person, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

May the Lord grant you strength and comfort as you navigate through this period of grief. May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds. Uncle Gerardo is now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, and his spirit will continue to watch over you.
