

Ivy Taylor, Jr. age 52, of Menifee, California passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans’ hospital. Ivy was born on March 25, 1970, in Baton Rouge, LA. In 1988, he graduated from Baker High School.
Ivy Jr. as he was affectionately called by his loved ones enlisted in the United States Navy in 1988. During his 26 years of serving his country, he came to be known as “T” by his shipmates. He was an Aviation Electrician on multiple H60 platforms and achieved the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer before retiring in 2014. During his naval career, Ivy left his mark on those he met, encouraging them to be the best they could be, impacting the lives of so many. Ivy loved what he did and continued his work by joining the Naval Air Technical Data & Engineering Service Command as a H60 Electrical Representative, where he was employed until his death.
Ivy was a culinary master on the grill, and we will miss his amazing BBQ specialties. Throughout his life Ivy made many friends along the way, he was just the kind of person who drew people in. He never lost his childlike spirit and love for life. Anyone who knew Ivy knew that he was the most loving husband and father a family could ask for, and he was the friend you could always count on.
Leaving to cherish his memory is his wife Tia Taylor, his five children L’Darrion, Peyton, Braylon, Ian, and Brielle Taylor, his father, Ivy Taylor Sr., his siblings, Jennifer (Melvin) Martin of Roseland, LA, Shonika and Tonya, and Toni Taylor, all of Baton Rouge, LA., and Chuck Taylor of Greensburg, LA,
Ivy we love you. You will be sadly missed but remembered with fond memories.

A memorial service has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 6 at 12pm, Ivy will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery.
