James “Jim” Snook was born on November 6, 1931 to Ernest and Mary Snook. As a child of the great depression and one of 6 children, Jim learned the lesson of hard work and independence from an early age. He spent his early life living and working in Iowa and Wisconsin – learning skills and trades along the way. During the 1960s, Jim moved to California and ultimately settled in Menifee, where he purchased his beloved home. He called it his ranch and he lived there for the rest of his life. Jim was married to his wonderful wife Marie for 28 years until her death in 2007. Jim had a passion for tending to his vintage cars, animals and his property. Along with a strong faith, he also adored his siblings Janet, Maxine, Jeannie, Howard and Robert. When together, they laughed and told stories for hours on end. Jim is survived by his brother Bob, his nieces and nephews, and a step-daughter and her two children. Jim’s wonderful, colorful spirit and his many stories will long be remembered by those who loved him. Rest in peace Jim!
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Mary; his sisters Jeannie, Janet and Maxine; his brother Howard, and his dear friend Marge.
