Larry, you were such an inspiration to so many, especially your children! I had the blessing of knowing you and sharing stories about our mutual  passion and love for fishing and the out doors. Over a year has passed since you got your wings, but I know you would be so proud of the man your son has become! I have had the opportunity to be part of seeing his maturity and growth working with him in the last several years. I know you are looking down proud of Ari! Your. example shines bright in him and so many others who knew you! Love you my brother, till we meet again!

I reached out to Larry at the beginning of the year for an update on his health and book, but now I know why he never reached back out. He will truly be missed.

I always enjoyed Larry coming into Rock Fitness Gym to chat. His first question was always "Any adventures planned? & How is school?" When I did have an adventure, I was eager to tell him. Although his adventure stories out did mine by miles. Such as walking across countries with his Samoyed Dog and sleeping on top of Mount Whitney. Although I cant tell him in person, I do want to let Larry know that I accomplished my goal of finishing school and becoming a Special Education Teacher.  

Larry was a true mountaineer and I wish I was able to go on an adventure with him. Luckily, I bought a tent and sleeping bag from him, so his adventuring will continue on.

I am so sorry to hear of Larry's passing.  You have my deepest sympathy.   Larry and I were internet friends for more than a decade.  We bonded over vintage backpacking gear.  Sadly we never met in person.  We spoke often of climbing Mt. Whitney together but could never get it scheduled.  Larry will be missed.

Oh man what a bummer. I met Larry a few months ago doing an insurance estimate for him at his house. He started telling me his story and gave me a photocopy of an article about him. Sometimes in my work I meet people like him - people with crazy stories that are pretty fascinating. I was doing some cleaning, found that copy, did a search and found his obituary. He sure seemed to have a whole lot of life left in him when I met him. R.I.P. Larry.

My wife, Chris,  and I knew Larry, and Sharon and Sasha and Ari, for almost 25 years. We've had so many fond memories of Larry who left us way too soon. At Congregation B'nai Chaim, we all worked on a fund raiser featuring cover bands of the Drifters and Shirelles, the most successful fund raisers at that synagogue.  Larry also dragged me, and Doctor John, up Mount Baldy, where I had my first, and hopefully last, experience of altitude sickness. Many more memories. We will miss Larry.

Our fondest memories of Larry are when we first met him in California.  He let our children try on his camping gear and he had the biggest smile on his face watching them.  We are saddened by his sudden loss and our heart breaks for Sharon, Sasha and Ari.  The world has lost a gentle soul.  Baruch Dayan Ha'emet.
