Where is Auntie Layla?

Well... she's in Heaven. 

Where is that?

Heaven is everywhere. Its... in your heart. In your memories. In your dreams. It's in the sun and in the moon.. Heaven is everywhere you think of Auntie Layla. And it's ok to be sad and it's ok to cry. It's also ok to laugh and be happy. Auntie Layla loved you both so much. She'd want you to be happy.

Hi guys. Words cannot express how sorry we are as a family. I can't even begin to express how devastated we are. It may have started as a job for Roni but  thank you for making us part of your family and sharing Layla and her beautiful spirit with us. 

You guys are so strong and have raised such a wonderful family. If we are half the parents to Ollie and Owen that you are to your 5 then we will be a success.

Take care of yourself, there is no understanding how the grief comes out.  There is no normal, I should know.  Allow yourself to grieve in any way.  Thinking of you, I am in San Diego right now but headed up there sometime.

My heart aches for you, The hardest thing I did was bury my husband.  Hurts so much and it will for quite awhile.  Then, it doesn't stop hurting but we learn to cope with the sadness.  Let me know if you need anything at all.

It was a beautiful service. 
When driving to the church I had the sinking feeling in my stomach. What if something went wrong. What if nobody shows up, what if I can't get my words out. What if this is truly the last time I'll see you.. I wanted to turn and run away. 
But. I put on my big girl shoes and did it for you. 
It was beautiful, people showed up. Nothing went wrong.  We got to see you and say goodbye one last time. 
I love you. Everyone showed their love and I'm so happy they did. 
Until we meet again my little sister.

Almost 8 years ago I met a little girl who ended changing my life in ways I never imagined. She made me a more patient person, she made me enjoy little things more, she made it ok to slow down and not be in a rush. She introduced me to so many wonderful people that I respect so deeply. But the thing I’m most grateful for is, she gave me a whole new family. She gave my kids a whole extra set of grandparents, 5 extra aunts and uncles. She gave me a best friend. This little girl changed my life forever in the best ways possible. Then on Monday night she changed our lives again by gaining her angel wings. 
I have never experienced a death where I didn’t feel anger towards what had taken my loved one, or bargain to bring them back or wake me up from the nightmare or just flat denial that they were gone. But Layla always does things differently, so here I am just plain sad. I’m not angry at any illness, or angry that she’s gone, I am not trying to bargain with God to bring her back because I know she is finally whole in Heaven released from the limitations she had on Earth. I just wish I had one more chance to tell her I love her, and tell her how grateful I am for her. I will always love you Layla Lu!

I never really knew my Aunt Layla, but what I do know is the happiness she brought when she was around and the sadness she brought when she passed just by listening to other's grief. I really hope that she finds peace up in heaven and peace for everybody who loved her.
