Mario was born to Giuseppe and Clementa Zagone on August 5, 1962, in Cerritos, California, where he was raised alongside his younger sister, Rose. He graduated from Cerritos High School in 1980. In August 1980 he married Kara Lee Speck and they raised their three children together in Southern California.
From his youth into adulthood, he played basketball and had an enduring passion for sports. Mario worked in various industries over the years and, following the passing of his parents, he cared for his sister, Rose. He was a kind, loving, and generous man, a friend to everyone he met. Above all, he was entirely devoted to his family, whom he loved and adored. Mario was a cherished member of his family and will always remain a hero to his children.
Mario is survived by his children Joe Zagone, Jennifer Zagone, and Phillip Zagone, along with their spouses, his grandchildren including Alexandria, Valerie, Julia, Phillip, Dominic, Jaxon, Lyla, Tristin, and Nixon, his great-granddaughter Eleanor, and his sister Rose Zagone.
