

Paul L Colmer of Wildomar, Riverside County, California passed away on April 8, 2026. He was born May 28, 1933, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and is the son of the late Lawrence E. and Ruth Martin Colmer. Paul was predeceased by his older brother Reigh E. Colmer, who was killed in action in WWII and Baby Boy Colmer.
After graduation from Greensburg High School in 1952, Paul served a four- year die maker apprenticeship at the Fisher Body Plant of General Motors in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. He worked 8 years at Fisher Body. He moved to the state of California and worked tool and die in several different manufacturing plants, especially Aero Jet General in Downey, California.
In 1962 he changed professions and joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Department where he worked as a patrolman, in the transportation bureau and in the desk and dispatch bureau. In 1970 Paul became an investigator with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office in Santa Ana, California, where he worked for the next 25 years helping to get criminal cases thru the California court system.
During this time Paul married and had 5 children, Kerry (Philip) Montuori, David (Janice) Colmer, Lance (Andrea Donato) Colmer, Janeen (Christopher) Reynolds and Kathy Lowe. Added to the loving family are 4 grandchildren, Andrew, Brad and Chris Colmer and Max Montuori, as well as a great granddaughter Halle Mayes Colmer. All of the above live in California except Halle. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
After Paul retired, he spent his time golfing, genealogy research, his model trains, fishing in the Eastern Sierra Mountains, being with the grandkids and helping others. Before he left Pennsylvania, he became a member of Masonic Lodge # 225 in Greensburg, Kedron Commandery #18 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and Angola York Rite Council #27, Angola, Indiana, while attending Tri State College.
Paul will surely be missed by all of his family, friends, former co-workers and especially neighbor George, who thinks Paul’s garage is Home Depot. After cremation his ashes will be sent to Coles Cemetery in Derry, Pennsylvania, to be buried in the family plot.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Miller-Jones Menifee Memorial Park and Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Menifee, CA 92585, US, on May 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Reception will follow in the Reception room at Miller-Jones Menifee Memorial Park and Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Menifee, CA 92585, US, on May 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
