

Robert Yanez, 87, of Perris, California, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Born on September 01, 1938, in Perris, Robert spent his entire life in the community he loved and proudly called home.
Robert was one of twelve children and carried with him the strong values of family, loyalty, and hard work throughout his life. Shortly after graduating high school, he joined the United States Navy, where he honorably served for three years. After his military service, Robert worked for Dan’s Feed & Seed in Perris for 67 years, becoming a familiar and respected face in the community. It was there that he met the love of his life, JoAnne, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years of marriage.
Robert had a deep love for horse racing and treasured the many days spent at the races alongside his wife and close friends. Del Mar held a special place in his heart, and horse racing remained one of his lifelong passions until the very end. He also enjoyed trips to Laughlin, visiting casinos, and spending time with the many friends and family members who brought joy to his life.
Robert was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife, JoAnne; his parents; and many brothers and sisters who passed before him.
He is lovingly survived by his daughter Debbie; his grandchildren Jennifer, Cheryl, Kayla, Kristin, and Brian; and his great-grandchildren Haylee, Matthew, Jacob, Reed, Jade, and Hayden. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, including Jim, Melissa, Jackie, Veronica and Anna; his brothers Tommy and Smile; his sister Ramona; and countless dear friends, including Steve, Tamara, Mike, and Monica.
Robert will be remembered for his kind heart, dedication to his family and community, and the friendships he built over a lifetime. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
