Rosie, age 80, passed away Wednesday morning, May 27, 2026 in Murrieta, CA. She was born April 17, 1946, in the City of Davao, Philippines. Rosie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rene Robrigado; her parents Felomeno Rufo and Modesta Edra; and her brother Raul Rufo Sr.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Manuel Rufo, Jose Rufo, Tita Orongan, Elsa Hiquial; her loving children, Yvette (husband Robert) Jury, Odette Hodgkinson, Brian Robrigado; and her cherished grandchildren, Thomazin Rose Jury, Jewell Whitaker Jury, John Hodgkinson, George Hodgkinson.
From humble beginnings on her farm in Davao, Rosie was dedicated to learning, and received a diploma from Holy Cross Calinan High School in Davao City, and a Bachelor of Science in
Chemistry at Adamson University in Manila. She furthered her education at UCLA where she completed a Certificate Executive Program in Management. She worked for 31 years at PRC / Courtaulds Aerospace / PPG Aerospace, starting in Products
Research and ending her career as a Global Manager. She tirelessly worked in hopes of providing her family with a better future.
Rosie loved traveling the world, and went on many adventures. She saw the Aurora Borealis in Iceland, the Great Wall in China, the Pyramids in Egypt, and the Eiffel Tower in France. She enjoyed visiting historic landmarks, seeing great works of art, and especially loved tasting the best food from each country. Many of her trips were pilgrimages to historic religious sites highlighted by a trip to Rome to sing for Pope John Paul II in 1993.
Rosie’s journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. She was a proud member of the St Bernards Filipino-American Choir and the Palmdale Church Choir, and a beloved member of the St Martha Church. She cared for her many friends in each community and often kept in touch with them decades after moving. Those who knew Rosie will remember her for her kindness and compassion, her strong work ethic, her deep love for her friends and family, her passion for travelling the world, and her dedication to her faith. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
