

Ruth was born on June 25, 1931 in Quincy, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Carl and Ruth Seppala. After her mother's death she was adopted by Russell and Fannie Summers, her fathers sister. She married Robert Shea of Naponset (Boston), Ma. in 1952 and they were happily married for 65 years until Robert’s death in 2017.
Ruth and Robert moved to California after their marriage in 1952. They lived in several places in Southern California, including Torrance, Anaheim and Hemet. Ruth moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona in 2020. She had a big family that she loved very much, she enjoyed her friends and especially enjoyed seeing her grandchildren. Everyone that met Ruth always talked about how sweet she was. She loved to talk to people, she had some great stories and a great sense of humor. She will be missed by many, including her sisters Elsa and Susan and her brother David.
She worked for Orange County Probation Department in Santa Ana for 15 years, before that she worked at a furniture store in Anaheim. She did a lot of volunteer work, including Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fruitvale Elementary School, Valley Restart Shelter and Hemet Hospital.
Ruth is survived by three sons Robert Jr, Stephen (Tracy) and David (Cindy) and two daughters Lisa and Louise (Jeff). She is also survived by her grandchildren Emma, Ryan, Max, Hailey and Lily. She also had four great grandchildren Caleb, Audrey, Jayden and Amaya.
