

Passed away while holding the hand of his daughter who was his best friend. He died on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the age of 82 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esther (Nee Bojar), his parents, his brothers Gene Borkowski, Ray, Artie, Clarence and sister Alice Trzecinski. He is survived by his pride and joy, his daughter, Elaine (Steve) Tate and his brothers, Ted (Barbara), Ervin (Nancy), Jerry (Beverly), his sisters Carey (Dale) Bieck and Helen (the late Michael) Bonis and many nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful grandpa to his granddog, Violet, and many grandcats.
Edward served in the U.S. Army Transportation Corp. He worked as a lithographer at the Continental Can Company for over 35 years. Ed enjoyed listening to National Public Radio, working Sudoku puzzles, he loved birdwatching, was an avid fisherman and most recently enjoyed the adventure of geocashing with his family. He was involved in many clubs to include the Ice Age Trail Hikers, the Pewaukee Astronomy Club and the Wild Ones. Ed's thirst for knowledge led him to take numerous courses at WCTC through Learning in Retirement. He also attended 19 Elderhostels with his wife Esther.
Throughout his life, Ed made his family his number one priority. He will be always be remembered for his generosity and kindness.
Memorial Gathering Saturday, April 26 from 10 AM to 12 noon with a short service at 12 noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Elderhostel Inc. or National Public Radio.
