
(Nee Dunham) Returned to her maker on February 2, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Graduate of Wauwatosa East High School. Swam and dove for the Milwaukee Athletic Club. Worked at Briggs and Stratton during the war. Married William Bishop Sr. and with the help of their two sons Robert (Sharon) of Jefferson and William Jr. of Mukwonago operated several farms for 42 years. Mary bowled in East Troy, Mukwonago and Fracaros Classic League. She was active in 4H, charter member of the Rural Stars, sang in the choir and member of North Prairie United Methodist Church. She cooked at Alioto's and West Moreland. Employed at McCoy's and later Hill's Department Store. She donated several gallons of blood. She was most pleased with the fact that she was responsible for getting the learning disability program established in the Mukwonago School System. She is also survived by her son Ross (Marcella) Bishop of Jackson and her daughter Bonnie Bishop of Waukesha. Mary loved to cook and spent many hours cooking and giving it to her family at Oak Hill Village, where she spent many happy days, weeks and years with her new family and friends. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brenda, Penny, James, Shelly, Michael, Sherry, Chad, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Gertrude (nee Eckmann) Dunham, her brother Staff Sgt. Robert Dunham-US Marine Corps, and her half sister Dorothy Thomson.
Per Mary's wishes, no formal services will be held. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the North Prairie United Methodist Church, 107 North Main Street, North Prairie, WI 53153.
