Ann Wilson was born on September 29, 1937 in Visalia, California and passed away on July 12, 2018 in Merced, California at the age of 80 years old. Ann was a resident of Le Grand, California for the past 48 years
Ann’s father used to say “She is her dad’s boy” since he only had two daughters. She loved to go fishing with him and play sports. Ann was an outstanding tennis player in high school. Later she joined the Women’s Golf Club at the Merced Golf and Country Club and won many trophies.
Ann was the head of the physical education department at Merced High School starting back in 1962. After retiring she was a substitute teacher. Ann enjoyed attending Le Grand United Methodist Church and was in the Le Grand Gardening Club. In 1955 Ann attended Fresno State then transferred to UCLA and joined a sorority, she graduated in 1959.
Ann and her husband Alan owned a cabin in Doyle Springs; that she enjoyed taking her grandson to throughout the years. Ann also was a Doyle Springs Association Member. In her later years Ann enjoyed going to the Farmer’s Markets and selling her own fruits and vegetables. She sold produce at over 40 markets in the past 20 years.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bea Henderson as well as her son, Robert Donald Wilson.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Alan Wilson and son David Alan Wilson Jr as well as her only grandson Austin and sister, Mary Elizabeth Gale.
The family would like to thank friends and family for their love and support. Ann was very smart, creative, and loved by all who knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held at Ann Wilson’s home on Saturday, August 11, 2018 beginning at 11:00 a.m. located at 10735 East Mission Avenue, Le Grand, California 95333.
