Mondo, born August 2, 1946 in Corona, CA was one of 10 children to Ricardo and Amalia Granado.
He resided in Corona until 1957 when the family moved to Livingston & where he lived the remainder of his life. He graduated in 1965 from Livingston High School where at times he was a Bus Driver while attending school.
Mondo attended Merced College before being drafted into the United States Army in 1968. While in the Army he worked as one of the top helicopter mechanics and enlisted into the 82nd Airborne, 101 Infantry Division. Though terrified of heights, he loved parachuting and was always the first to jump.
Upon his return home in 1971, he worked alongside his brother and father at Granado Trucking, Foster Farms, Slaton Trucking, MUHSD, Peterson Brothers Custom Chopping, and with various farmers and friends. He was very meticulous with his work, but his Love for Mechanics and the knowledge he sustained was shared with all who knew him.
Mondo and Wendy married in 1976 and he is survived by his three daughters Juanita Portia (Jeff) Williams, Ofelia Marie (Alfredo) Ayala, and Roxanne Amalia (Ernesto) Ramirez, Jr. and eight grandchildren: Isaiah, Natalia, Bradley, Alexia, Milan, Julia, Isabella, and Leilani. Mondo also leaves behind two siblings Richard and Rachel.
Mondo enjoyed late-night phone conversations with Maricky, trucks, vintage cars, line dancing, family gatherings, sharing stories, and whole-heartedly honored his Comrades of the Military with the Merced County Honor Guard. He was also a proud member of The American Historical Truck Society and Merced Elks, Chapter 1240.
Please join the Granado Family as we lay Armando to rest on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at St. Jude Thaddeus Roman Catholic Church 330 Franci St. Livingston, CA. Viewing 10am, Rosary 10:30am, and Funeral Mass at 11am. We will take him on his final ride through Livingston before the procession to the burial. Winton Cemetery District 7651 Almond Ave. Winton, CA.
