Barbara was born on February 1, 1938, to Frances and James Closser in Kansas City, Missouri. She was one of five children. At the age of three, the family moved to Merced, California where Barbara attended Weaver Union School and Merced High School.
At the age of seventeen, she married Lester Kramer, and from their marriage they welcomed five sons, which included her first set of twins. Barbara remarried to Gordan Ivy, from their marriage her first daughter was welcomed. Later in life, she married Roland Borges, and they welcomed her second set of twins, a boy and a girl.
Barbara worked hard raising her children, while also working as a nursing assistant at Hyland Convalescent Hospital. She had many loves in her life, baking and sewing, and working in the garden. Besides her family, she had so much love for her dogs.
She was a faithful servant of the Lord, her church, and her church family.
Barbara is loved and will missed by many.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ron Kramer, Mark and Pam Kramer, Bruce and Laurie Kramer, Larry Kramer, Diane & John Howe, Carrie Borges, and her sister Mary Louise Macy. Many Grandchildren, Great Grand Children, Great Great Grand Children, and Nieces and Nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Roland Borges, her parents Frances and James Closser, her siblings, Leonard Hollon, Jack Hollon, Jacquline Knous, and her children Roland Borges Jr. and Randy Kramer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 4:00 pm held at the Merced Olive East Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2222 E Olive Avenue, Merced, California.
A Private Burial will be held at a later date.
