Barbara Shaw

Barbara Shaw was born on July 11, 1931 in Lodi, California, to Auguste Karle and (Agnes) Shirley Jennings Karle. She died on May 22, 2021. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert (Bob) in 1990, and son, Roger, in 2013. She is survived by her son, John, and daughter, Nancy (Shaw) Oehler, Nancy’s husband, Phil, who she loved like a son, and grandson, Geoffrey Oehler. Barbara was a valued employee of the Merced Hotel, El Capitan Hotel and lastly, her 22 years with Cleveland Partition (Rock 10). Barbara loved flea markets, dancing, gardening, listening endlessly to bluegrass music and just being outside soaking up sunshine and watching the birds. She was a true friend to so many people, young and old, and she was loved in return. Viewing will be at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 “B” Street, Merced, California, on Friday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a graveside service to follow at adjacent Evergreen Memorial Park, 1480 “B” Street, Merced, California.
