

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Taylor, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, who left us on September 3, 2025, at the age of 83. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends.
Early Life
Barbara Taylor was born on October 6, 1941, in Merced. Growing up in Le Grand, Snelling, where she developed a strong sense of community and compassion that carried through her life. She attended schools in Snelling, Le Grand, and Merced High. Later in her life she attended Merced College, where she excelled in the nursing program.
Career and Achievements
Her career began as a salesgirl at Tatum's Bakery where he and Paul first met while he was a box boy at Salters Market. She also was a teller at UBC which later became First Interstate Bank. After she became a CNA, she went to work for Hinds Hospice. Later her family needed her booking knowledge, so she went to work for Staples Custom Covering which later became CT&T Enterprises and Agri-Link Plastics. Barbara Taylor was known for her dedication and integrity.
Family and Community
Barbara Taylor was cherished by husband Paul of 65 years, daughters, Jayne Reyes, Karen Marques (Orlando), grandchildren, Matthew Taylor (Jessica), John Reyes (Nelia), Justin Reyes (Jessica), Joseph Staples (Amy), Melanie Morris (David), numerous great grandchildren, brother Frank Gasper (Annie), and many extended family members.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son James Taylor, parents, Manuel and Mable Gasper, brothers, Manuel and John Gasper, sisters Kathy Roach and Linda Correia.
Personal Interests
Outside of her professional life, Barbara enjoyed bowling, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
Legacy
Barbara Taylor's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and integrity. Those who were fortunate to share in her life will continue to honor her spirit through their actions and memories.
The family would like to thank Celeste, Vickie and Eva for their loving care for Barbara. Especially Eva Johnson for her daily care and talks. They would like to thank the staff at Bristol Hospice for their care and support for the whole family.
