

Bob was born in Waynesboro, TN., to Junior Repp and Ruth Gobbell, sisters Betty (Pringle) and was preceded in life by sister Margaret (Gamble). He grew up in Florence Alabama. In 1957, at the age of 18, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed as a Load Master in Newfoundland, Canada, when he met and married Gertrude (Kavli) Gobbell.
Bob was stationed in several places over the years including, Charleston, SC., Biloxi, MS., Wasserkuppe Air Station, in Germany, and retired his Air Force career at Mather Air Force Base, in Sacramento, as an E-4 Federal Communications Engineer. Bob went on to serve as a Civilian Engineer at Castle Air Force Base, in Atwater, CA. There, he programmed and maintained radar and flight communications in flight simulators. Bob also made a second career as a well-respected Contractor.
Always outgoing and adventurous, Bob loved Cycling, Triathlons, Windsurfing, Drag Racing, Kayaking and Camping. He spent his last years as a beloved Camp Host for the Federal Parks Service in Wyoming. From his travels all over the U.S., Canada, Germany, Greater Europe and trips to Baja Mexico, Bob was loved by all, and had a great ability to turn friends into family. Bob was the life of the party everywhere he went. Spending time with family was always a priority. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather, and friend. He touched many lives with his southern charm and hospitality, and will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by, Gertrude Gobbell, his Children, Bobby Gobbell Jr., Nancy Roediger, Kerri Van Maren, and Larry Gobbell, 19 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren.
