Brooks Willen Berrien a long time resident of Mariposa, California, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2014 in Merced, California at the age of 87 years. Brooks was born to Richard and Odette Berrien in Oakland, California on March 15, 1927.
Brooks owned and operated many businesses in Mariposa throughout the years. He was a proud Merchant Marines Veteran and a Volunteer Deputy Sheriff for the town of Mariposa. He also belonged to the Masons and Eastern Star. Brooks proudly attended the New Life Christian Center of Mariposa. Brooks can be remembered for having a passion for woodworking
Brooks is preceded in death by his daughter, Gayle; father, Richard; mother, Odette Berrien; brother, Richard Berrien; and sister, Esther. Brooks leaves behind his beloved wife, Doris C. Berrien and daughters, Lynee Hanson of Placerville, California and Christy Di Giorgio of Oakdale, California; and his cherished grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
A memorial will be held on September 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Life Christian Fellowship Center 5089 Cole Road Mariposa CA, 95338.
